He will crush your heart

GodtheFather5He will crush your heart so that you can learn to love His people as He desires them to be loved; indeed, as He has loved them Himself. For without a heart that is crushed, it would remain closed or insufficiently open to His people and they would remain unable to enter into His Heart. He will crush your heart so that you become more and more like His Son, taking on not just the image that was imprinted on our souls at conception, but also His beautiful likeness; the likeness of the Lamb and the Lion of Judah.

He will crush your heart so that you will never be better off than your Master and Savior; your Brother. He shall afflict you with some of the same trials, part of the same Chalice, that He bestowed upon His Son for our salvation and deification. In the process you will meet the postmodern-day Judas Iscariot face to face – as traitorous, as hate-filled, as vicious, and no less vengeful than was the original Judas. Even more, He will crush your heart with the same sorrows that were endured by the Mother so that you will know what the salvation of your soul entailed.

Above all, He will crush your heart so that you become the means through which His people, His long-lost and ever-stubborn children, can return to Him in safety. He shall crush your heart so that His children can all finally call out to Him, with the entirety of their beings, the sweet name of Father.

Faith and seeing God

The Son of God became man so that man might become god – Saint Athanasius (De inc. 54, 3: PG 25, 192B).

Yes, God Is and will remain – despite the present loss of your faith.

There are two kinds of faith: faith derived from hearing and learning, and faith derived from theoria. Although not separate from each other, the two kinds of faith differ, resulting in different kinds of knowledge of God.

Faith derived from hearing and learning (simple faith) results in the natural knowledge of God. Faith derived from theoria (perfect faith) results in the spiritual knowledge of God and the healing of man. We have become very used to the former, but thoroughly unused to the latter that we seem to have forgotten it indeed exists and is part and parcel of the life of humankind.

The shift from the mere natural knowledge of God, to the spiritual knowledge of God, is what is happening right now, necessitating purification in all the dimensions of life. This shift will continue, steadily increasing, until illumination of the heart of the soul, the nous, occurs and then all humankind will know God Is.

Why the desert?

“The stillness of the desert provides man with the fittest atmosphere for . . . far from the noise of the world, man implores the help of God and concentrates all his powers so as to erase his passionate attachment to the outside world, overcome his intellect’s fragmentation, and achieve spiritual balance. Thus man, ‘having entered wholly within himself,’ becomes aware of himself and awaits within himself the coming of God and the divine transformation” (Mantzaridis [1984] The deification of man, p. 85).

When the Father is absent

When God our Father is absent from the hearts and lives of the people, chaos returns to the earth because there can be no order without the Father who is order Himself.

To the people – 4

How shall I give you up, Ephraim? How shall I surrender you, Israel? How shall I make you as Admah? How shall I set you as Zeboim? (Hos 11:8).

The consensual silence of man in the face of the most horrid neglect of Him who is infinite love is abominable (Dn 9:27, 11:31, 12:11). It is the silence of those who are neither hot, nor cold (Rv 3:16) – the silence of the lukewarm. The silence Continue reading “To the people – 4”

To the people – 3

Plead with your mother, plead; for she is not My wife, neither am I her husband. And let her put away her harlotries from her face and her adulteries from her breasts (Hos 2:4).

Those who profess to love Him, do not love Him. They love Him only with their lips as their hearts are very far away. Under a ceaseless variety of rationalizations, they do not tender Him with care, for love – true love – is missing from their hearts, minds and souls.  Continue reading “To the people – 3”

To the people – 2

From the days of your fathers you have turned aside from My ordinances and have not kept them. Return unto Me and I will return unto you, says HaShem of hosts. But you say, “Wherein shall we return? Will a man rob God?” Yet you rob Me (Mal 3:7-8).

Love is not wanted any longer despite all He has given them throughout the centuries. Even the wandering animals He has created enter and sit with Him, unbidden, to keep Him company and bask in His infinite love. But His people – His very own people, those dearest Continue reading “To the people – 2”

To the people – 1

The Father and the Mother sacrificed their only Son, divine and human, while Christ died tortured on the Cross for them. Yet this people does not care.

Return, O Israel, unto HaShem your God, for you have stumbled in your iniquity (Hos 14:2).

A voice in the desert, the barren wilderness, cries out to God’s own people:

Not even the slightest spark of reverence exists in His Presence any longer. All is dead despite the appearance of being alive, for love in the hearts of this people has grown cold and bitter. Love Himself is neglected and abandoned. Nothing is offered to Him, that He desires and has ceaselessly begged for. Continue reading “To the people – 1”

The state of our world

Love for God our Almighty Father has become largely absent in the hearts, minds and souls of humankind, making the world spiritually barren – a wilderness – once again as hope, charity and love have died in the hearts of many individuals. We experience great difficulty Continue reading “The state of our world”

The three stages of our love for God

According to St Nikitas Stithatos, the three stages of our love for God is as follows:

  1. In the first stage we experience “contempt for visible and human things,” as part of our beginning love for God;  Continue reading “The three stages of our love for God”
